Veronica's Velvet

WALT: Locate information within a text This week, we did a reading task called Veronica's, Velvet. We had to do Vocab's, Grammar and Sequencing. Vocab means, when you match the words from the text to the clues. Grammar means, A compound word is made of two separate words, e.g. Afternoon. Lastly Sequencing means, when you look back through the card to find what happened fist. This book is about a girl name Veronica's mother makes a Velvet cushion. When she finished making it Veronica's mother finds leftover scraps and then she puts it into a magical treasure box. After years later, Ruth takes that scraps and then she makes her a magical skirt with different color's in it. Ruth go's over sea's and when she comes back she comes back with a baby in her belly. Later on Ruth put's her Skirt in the op shop and then a lady named tanya buy's the skirt from the op shop. Then it carries on and on.

Trapped

WALT: Locate information within a text












Our task we've been working on is called trapped. We had to get all the answers from the book and then we had to right it into our own sentence. The first thing we did was to read the instructions on the site. Then we had to read whats the texts about. After that we had to go through the presentation. Lastly we had to meet with the teacher. The story is about a boy named Toby who gets trapped in a sand cave. Thank you for going on my blog.

Algebra

This task I've been working on is called Algebra. Some of use already know about Algebra. Algebra is hard, but this is my work I finish.

Poetry

Kiwi kids news read off

WALT - Locate and summarise ideas within a range of texts. This week our follow up activity is called Kiwi kids news read off. We had to read each article from each slide and then write the answers in our own words. My favorite slide was the Harmony of the sea's ( Ship ). Because the Harmony of the sea's is the biggest ship in the world. It cost's nearly 1, billion CRAZY RIGHT!!. It's also holds 1,400 seat's , a park with 12,000 plant species and a 10 story water slide.

Dead car clean-up

WALT: Record a sequence of events Participate together in a pair This story is about a school named Punaruku school finds dead old rusty cars in the bushes up in Northland. The task we were given was to read the story, type what happened in the story and make a poster about the 4 things they did. The first thing we did was to make a poster about what they did.
