How did the Olympics came to be

What is the olympics ?
So the Olympics is the biggest sporting event ever in the world. The Olympics is held every 4 years in a single city. In the Olympics, countries from all around the world take part of the Olympics. They are divided into a summer and winter games.

What date or year did it start?
The first Olympic games was held in greece, Olympia ( south west ). It started over 2, 700 years ago.  Around 50,000 people came to watch the Olympics or came to compete in the Olympics. 77bc to 2016. The first modern Olympics was held in Athens in Greece. The Greek Olympics, thought to have begun in 776 BC, inspired the modern olympics games ( began in 1896 ). The Olympic games was to honor Zeus and other greek gods. The Games in the Olympics were Boxing, Wrestling, Sprinting and more.

Who was the founder?
A man named pelops, the king of pisa. He was the man who found the Olympic games back in the 60’s, but a man named Baron pierre de Coubertin. He started the Olympics in greece all the way to rio.  Baron pierre de Coubertin is a french man. In the western part of peloponnese which, according to greek mythology, is a man named pelops.

How many Countries came to the Olympics?

The Games continued to grow, with 199 nations represented in Sydney, for the 2000 Summer Games, and 201 nations in Athens, for the 2004 Summer Olympics. A record number of nations (204) were represented at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, with Marshall Islands and Tuvalu making their Olympic debut.

So the Olympics is the biggest sporting event ever in the world. The Olympics is held every 4 years in a single city. In the Olympics, countries from all around the world take part of the Olympics. They are divided into a summer and winter games. This year 2016 the Olympics is held in Rio Janeiro. Last year the Olympics was held in Glasgow.  
This year it is different to the Ancient Olympics. Womens are allowed, the stadium is better, better gear and better sports.
